September was designated as National Blood Cancer Awareness Month by the United States Congress in 2010. Every year since then, Imerman Angels has joined the cancer community in raising awareness for blood cancers including leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. According to our Cancer Partner Organization, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, an estimated combined total of 156,420 people in the United States are expected to be diagnosed with a form of blood cancer in 2014, which accounts for 9.4% of the the total number of new cancer cases expected this year.
